1948 Crosley Altered
In 1962, Two brothers in Iowa got the notion to build a Gas Coupe for Drag RAcing. They acquired a 1948 Crosley CC Wagon Body, Stripped out everything that wasn't essential to rabid 1/4 mile trips, added a square rollbar, and installed a 283 and a Powerglide. As rules changed, the brothers added a buggy sprung axle out front to meet the new wheelbase requirements. Then, when the Street Hemi was introduced in 1964, Wild Thing II began to live up to its name. The made "adjustments" to the frame to fit the big Elephant between the rails.
